Going abroad for residency, dual citizenship, marriage, school or work? Most countries ask for an apostilled birth certificate. We check it, submit it and get it back to you.
Price and timeline
Which copy you need
- An authorized certified copy issued by a California county recorder or the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
- Not the hospital souvenir certificate, a photocopy, or an “informational” copy. Informational copies are stamped as not valid to establish identity.
- A recent copy is best. Older copies can be rejected if the official who signed them is no longer on file with the Secretary of State.
How to get a certified copy
You, or a close family member such as a parent, child, sibling, grandparent or spouse, need to order it from the county where you were born (usually the fastest) or from CDPH. We can't order it for you. The county will tell you which forms and ID it needs.
How it works
- 1Send us a scan. We check it for free and confirm the price and timeline.
- 2Bring or mail the original. Walk in at 2706 Harbor Blvd., Ste. 206, Costa Mesa, or use our prepaid label.
- 3We get the apostille. We get the apostille from the California Secretary of State.
- 4Pay and collect. Pay online once it's reviewed, then pick up in Costa Mesa or we ship it back.
Born outside California?
The apostille comes from the state where you were born, and we can arrange that too. Send us a scan for a quote.
We usually reply within 30 minutes during office hours, with the exact price, steps and timeline.
